This past Sunday was the SF Indie Mart, a street market that features local and independent artisans, crafters, and anyone else who has cool things to sell. It is an event that started in the founder’s backyard and has grown to cover a whole block.

There were all sorts of things to look at and desire, from clothes to jewelry to handmade stationary:

Indie Mart also holds DIY workshops during the market. This time it was Make Your Own Terrarium! You could pick your container, plants, and even a little gnome or animal to put in your little landscape.

My friend Rhiannon and I each made a terrarium. Here is Rhiannon’s, whose turned out much prettier than mine:

Many of the vendors offered on-the-spot customization:

There were even yummy homemade baked goods to enjoy while shopping:

Besides my awesome terrarium, I scored a cool shirt for my boyfriend by Gangs of San Francisco and a vintage cardigan with gold epaulets. I will definitely be back to this event! For more info, check out their website.
